Spring is nearly here and our March book wall is filled with books featuring stories about gardens, blooms, the spring season, and Easter. A couple years ago, I shared a blog post with some of our favorite titles. Since then, we've added to some new books to our spring collection!

1. Easter on the Farm by Phyllis Alsdurf - A girl and her family prepare for a community Easter egg hunt and springtime on the farm.

2. Fletcher and the Springtime Blossoms by Julia Rawlinson - Fletcher the fox is enjoying the beauty of warmth of spring when he suddenly spots snow tumbling to the ground in the meadow. He rushes off to warn his friends that winter is not yet over when the friends make a beautiful discovery.

3. It's Spring! by Renee Kurilla - A fun rhyming story that celebrates all that the season of spring has to offer.

4. The Flower Thief by Alice Hemming - Spring has arrived and Squirrel spots the first flower to bloom and becomes very protective over it. Bird helps Squirrel understand how flowers best grow.

5. Egg by Kevin Henkes - A short story with minimal words about four eggs about to hatch with a surprise ending.

6. E is for Easter - An alphabet book focused on words related to Easter and celebrating spring.

7. Duck + Goose by Tad Hills - Duck and Goose both mistake a large spotted ball for an egg and claim that the egg belongs to each of them. The two fight and argue until finally learning to work together to care for the egg.

8. Busy Spring: Nature Wakes Up by Sean Taylor and Alex Morss - Two children help their father with gardening and learn about many of the ways that nature is awakening in the spring.

9. The Hike by Alison Farrell - This story tells of three sisters as they hike to the summit and of all the plants and animals they see along the way.

10. Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner - Follow a girl and her grandmother as they garden throughout the year and explore what's both above and below the garden helping it to flourish and grow.
And there you have it! If you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them!
